PROJECT

Mediterranean Shipping Company -

Access Control & CCTV

MSC, one of the world’s largest container shipping companies, sought to enhance the security infrastructure at its London Gateway Port.

The project involved the installation of a comprehensive security system, comprising CCTV surveillance, access control systems, intruder alarms, groundworks for structural setup, and barrier installations.

The team worked closely with the client in planning and carrying out the project to meet the desired results requested.

We attended the site on various occasions and developed a comprehensive plan of device locations and specified particular models of equipment to be installed to meet the requirements of the functionality of the customer’s specifications.

  • This includes the following –
Positioning of ANPR cameras, which were integrated into the Barrier control equipment for automatic release for authorised vehicles.
  • Installation of winch-operated poles for installation of PTZ and Bullet Cameras to reach the desired height for optimal viewing of the site.
  • Thermal imaging Cameras to be situated in locations to give a responsive trigger to the depot office to provide to give fast reactiveness to fire hazards in the compounds.
  • Facial recognition access control to give them strict access control methods of entering and exiting secure areas.
  • A server CCTV and access control system based system which can be viewed from offsite headquarters to monitor the depot.
  • Inturder alarm system which can be controlled remotely and will be linked to externally 24hr monitored alarm receiving centre.
  • Fire alarm system with external sound and visual indication throughout the compound to allow the fastest notification of the event of a fire.
  • Wiring an infrastructure of cabling that can be built on in the future to allow for efficient additions if required.

On completion we worked closely with the client to fine tune the systems down the little details to ensure they have a system they are happy with.

We have been fluid with the customers requests and tackled any changes that have occurred throughout the installation. Highlighting our key customer service for adapting to all aspects of the installation processes.

The goal was to create a robust security framework to safeguard port assets, control access points, and monitor activities in real-time.

Thurston Extra Care Facility -

Sprinkler Installation

Thurston Extra Care Facility is a residential care home located in Suffolk, providing long-term care for elderly residents, including those with physical & mental disabilities. The facility houses roughly 120 residents in the building which is interconnected by 3 wings. The facility has both individual apartments and shared living spaces. The decision was made to install an automatic sprinkler system as part of a broader initiative to improve safety and meet changing fire safety regulations for care homes.

Site Assessment and Planning

Before the installation, a thorough site assessment was carried out by our expert team, which included:

  • Facility Layout: A detailed survey of the three wings was conducted to determine optimal sprinkler head placement. The layout included both private apartments and common areas, such as dining rooms and lounges.
  • Fire Hazard Analysis: Rooms with increased fire risks (e.g., kitchens, communal areas) were identified as high-priority zones. Care was also taken to design the system to accommodate areas with more complex evacuation requirements due to residents’ mobility challenges.
  • Water Supply Consideration: It was identified that a booster pump would be necessary to maintain sufficient water pressure. We utilised the domestic cold water booster pump that in the event of a fire would switch to fully supply the fire sprinkler system.
